“Momming” ain’t easy, no doubt about it! Feelings of isolation, loss of freedom, guilt, shame and insecurities often replace our expectations of constant bliss, multitasking, consistently obedience children and joy. That doesn’t mean however that there isn’t hope. Know you are not alone in these feelings. More mamas struggle than you know. Here are 3 common lies that mamas believe… and the truth that God says about it.

LIE: We can’t follow our dreams or calling because we are supposed to just focus on our children now.

TRUTH: If it is something God has called us to do, He will make a way for you to do it.  (1 Corinthians 12:7-10)

LIE: I am the only one who feels like running away sometimes.

TRUTH: We all feel like that sometimes. There is absolutely no shame. The truth is that God has made you capable. You CAN do this. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

LIE: I am the only one who feels overwhelmed by my children.

TRUTH: Nope, absolutely not. EVERYONE feels like this. Having children is one way God can help us to simplify and slow down our lives. Don’t expect so much of yourself right now. Just take it day by day, minute by minute. You are NOT alone. (Isaiah 40:31)
