I have had a few questions from people watching on social media asking me, how do you do it?  How are you a horse girl and a wife and mom?  How do you run your ministry and stay at home with your baby?  Well… here is the truth:

  1. I have some amazing people in my life that help me.

That saying “it takes a village” could not be more true.  I am so grateful that I have amazing friends and family nearby to help me out.  Shout out to the following peeps who are generous with their time and love:  1) My sweet hubby Mark, who lets me have the evenings while he bathes and gets Colette ready for bed 2) My AMAZINGLY generous neighbors Cindy, Laura and Carol for snuggling my sweet girl while I am doing FBEAP sessions with clients, 3) my mother-in-law (aka mother-in-love) for watching her when she is in town, and  4) My sweet friend Holly, who helps me on Tuesdays with Colette 5) First Baptist Willis Mother’s Day out for hanging out with her Tuesdays and Thursdays and teaching her about Jesus and letters.  You all make all of this possible! My heroes!

2. I am doing what Jesus asked me to do and not what he didn’t ask me to do.

Jesus asked me to specifically always make Fridays “Me and Colette” Days.  On Fridays we go do something special and fun like the zoo or the indoor play park.  I do FBEAP sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays and sometimes on Thursdays and Saturdays.  On Tuesdays I teach high school Bible and on Thursdays while Colette is at Mother’s Day Out I get to do sessions and ride my horse.

3. Nap time saves me every time.

The majority of things I get done for the administrative side of Horse and Soul get done while Colette takes a nap.  Praise Jesus for nap time!  (And all the moms said “Amen!”)

One of the lies I had to fight when I started Horse and Soul as a nonprofit was “I can’t do anything now that I am a mom.”  After Jesus helped me to expose and reject that lie, all I saw were possibilities and hope.  If you have something on your heart and you are a mom, I want to encourage you to seek the Lord and ask Him how He wants you to proceed.  I am praying with you for courage and wisdom on where to go from here.  Enjoy the journey.  <3
