I have been listening to Henry Cloud’s book, “Necessary Endings” and something hit me today. Endings are 100 % necessary. Its necessary that we let go of infancy to grow into being a toddler, to let go of childhood to become and adult. Endings are not bad. We need endings to grow. We need endings to thrive. We must sometimes make the decisions to prune and other times the decision is made for us. He shares that there are three types of pruning:
1) Pruning the good buds that aren’t the best branches
2) Sick branches that harm the plant
3) Dead branches that waste energy
Wow. It is so true! This is a powerful imagery and will really make you take inventory of your life. Where do you see these in your life? As we step into a new year, what are things that you should not bring with you.
